About the opportunity:

We work in highly regulated environments like banks, payments providers and the UK Public Sector, designing and building highly performant, secure, automated solutions on AWS, Azure and GCP which has to perform at scale and take maximum advantage of cloud-native services. In all the work we do, speed, efficiency and security are key.

You will work in blended teams of Engineers, Architects, Cyber, Product and Delivery consultants. Some projects will be delivered entirely by Airwalk and some will involve members of your team working alongside the client’s own staff as part of a larger delivery team. Project oversight, from Project Managers and Scrum Masters, may be provided by Airwalk or by the client, depending on the scope of the engagement.

As a consultancy, we have many concurrent projects across different clients. You will typically focus on one client at a time, with an average engagement lasting 6-12 months. That said, we have Engineers who support a couple of clients at the same time, and there are opportunities to work on some really interesting projects on a secondment basis across other Reply companies, and in support of wider AWS delivery teams.

Responsibilities:

As a DevOps Engineer at Airwalk your role will typically involve:
  • Helping to understand and define client Engineering requirements
  • Building automation into your work wherever possible, in-particular through the - automation of infrastructure deployments using Terraform
  • Building continuous integration, development and deployment pipelines
  • Deploying containers
  • Accelerating cloud adoption by building modular, repeatable stacks, breaking down code silos and driving proper Git usage and implementing dev, test, release and support processes for multi-cloud deployments

Requirements:

It’s difficult to write a wish list of skills, as we are really looking for broad technical competence and a willingness to learn. That said, Engineers at Airwalk will generally have experience in most of the below areas:
  • Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Linux
  • CI/CD
  • Containers / Microservices

  • We're as flexible as we can be on location. Generally our consultants will work from home and get together in an office once or twice a month. Client work can be f2f but htat's usually rare, and adhoc. We have offices in London Liverpool Street, London Victoria, Manchester, Edinburgh and Sheffield
