Job Description:

Summary of the role:

The Full-Service Email Marketing Strategist is responsible for the design, in close collaboration with the Amadeus Creative team, and execution of responsive and engaging email campaigns for a large client with approximately 80 hotels. S/he will serve as a primary contact for customers for email campaigns and will be looked upon for strategic recommendations to maximize revenues.

In this role you’ll:

  • Develop in-depth understanding of client needs and establish a cohesive, trusting relationship; handle client escalations and resolutions. Lead communications with clients through both calls and emails, and occasional face to face meetings.
  • Work with the client to establish an email marketing calendar. Design and implement, end-to-end, direct email marketing campaigns on behalf of the client. Proofread emails for clarity, grammar, and spelling. Ensure emails are mobile friendly and follow industry best practices. Identify target audience, segment audience lists, and manage emails database growth.
  • Work with colleagues and creative team to explore new opportunities in GMS and knowledge share, including leading training of specific topics
  • Determine KPIs for success, regularly analyze campaign performance, and suggest improvements when applicable. Present results, discuss strategic opportunities for the email campaigns

About the ideal candidate:

Education:

  • BA or BS Degree in related field of study including Marketing, Hospitality, Advertising or a relevant field.

Relevant Work Experience:

  • 2+ years in email promotional marketing or digital marketing, managing a portfolio of clients
  • SalesForce experience preferred
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of various email marketing strategies and platforms
  • Experience in communication with clients and campaign stakeholders (1 year+) - including presentation skills

Business Understanding:

  • Strong communicator with a demonstrated passion for innovation, strategic thinking, and establishing positive customer relationships.
  • Deep knowledge of email marketing and experience working with CRM platforms
  • Experience in the hospitality industry a plus
  • Good understanding of market trends and hospitality KPIs, with strong focus on the interaction between those KPIs and email marketing performance
  • Stays updated on industry trends and best practices

Skills:

  • Computing: Proficient in MS Office, HTML/MJML, content management systems, marketing automation tools
  • Languages: Highly Proficient in English (preferable as mother tongue)
  • Specific knowledge: Strong ability to evaluate data trends and reach data-driven conclusions, understand and evaluate budget/results, upsells, returns, margins and other KPIs specific to email marketing. Excellent written communication and copywriting skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Other: Out-of-the-box thinking, analytical skills, great oral and written communication skills, Ability to work independently, ownership, eagerness to learn and share knowledge, teaching skills. Knowledge and experience working with basic HTML and MJML a plus.
