Job Purpose

National Grid has embarked on a new journey to digitize our Strategic Planning and Enterprise Architecture Management functions. Alfabet is the central EnterpriseHub, bringing together both our lines of business and IT, ensuring one balanced plan for how we achieve our company priorities. We are looking for an innovative, adaptable and result-oriented software engineer that will help enable our platform. Providing direct line of sight from strategy to execution of change, with transparency and considerations of dependencies and relationships across all layers o fthe architecture and across all areas of the Company to provide insights on critical decisions.

This role will be responsible for delivering and maintaining support for Alfabet’s product as well as Alfabets product related IT Projects and applications. This includes but not limited to integrations with Service Now CMDB, Apptio, SAP S4 Hana and Jira Align. This role will work very closely with the Alfabet Product Owner and will collaborate closely with the Enterprise Architecture, IT Strategy, EPMO, CIO & Engineering teams to deliver business outcomes. As an experienced developer, you will manage the platform, how it is consumed and will build and deliver it based on best practices. Experience and knowledge in End2End Business & IT Portfolio Planning and Management and Financial Management, and Enterprise Architecture is required. This role will report to the Sr. Director of IT Foundations within the National Grid IT organization.

Key Accountabilities

· Act as the voice of the customer in the definition of innovative digital solutions as it pertains to strategic business planning, portfolio optimization, performance management and EA

· Work with Lines of Business business partners as well as system integrator partners to identify, define and clarify requirements, and consult with development team on the viability of projects and requirements

· Work with Product Owners and stakeholders to build and deliver roadmap

· Support IT Strategy and EA setting the long-term vision and strategy for platforms and high value workflows, and communicate this strategy to all the relevant participants and partners

· Support bringing new technology solutions to NG with return-on-investment analysis

· Translate Business and Technology requirements into software code (Alfabet configurations and expand based secription) for development on Alfabet product platform

· Support Alfabet installation and configurations for enterprise scale deployment

· Write and implement user stories leveraging Scrum and SAFE

· Provide project sizing/estimate as required, attending Daily Stand-ups, backlog refinement sessions etc, providing clarification for ambiguity reviews, verify test scripts and test results agains project stories

· Monitor and report on product & platform business value KPIs

· Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to scope, design, concept test and deliver innovative solutions

· Prepare and present product planning communications for executives and stakeholders

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required Excellent stakeholder management skills with credibility and gravitas to influence and lead thought at the senior level.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or in related field; Master's Degree preferred

• 10+ years of professional experience in software technologies

• Development and configuration experience with Alfabet; 3+ years of Alfabet experience a minimum.

• 5+ years of technical experience with Alfabet meta-model, aDIF and Expand toolset.

• Strong understanding of digital products & platforms like ServiceNow, Apptio, POL, etc.

• Knowledge of Agile software delivery models (Kanban, Scrum, SAFe, etc.). 3+ years of Agile experience.

• Proficiency in SQL programming

• Understanding of Business and Strategic Planning

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience with hands on experience in the Software AG Alfabet Platform
