Job Description:

Core Accountabilities

  • Contribute to the vision for and delivery of the architecture for the Fruugo infrastructure required to achieve the business growth strategy
  • Take part in ensuring high system availability, performance, efficiency, proper change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning
  • Conduct the day-to-day work within the infrastructure team where frequent deployments of new software and infrastructure are normal
  • Ensure duties comply with relevant national and international industry and quality - regulations and frameworks, and will be responsible for any documentation pertaining to the work personally undertaken
  • Respond to any infrastructure related incidents following Fruugo processes and procedures
  • Liaising with the software engineering teams to ensure consistent delivery
  • Supporting the Fruugo internal network and globally distributed user community

Requirements

Skills & Knowledge Required

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering similar services in a production hosted environment utilising the technical stack
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of server, storage and networking technologies for on-premise, private and public cloud-based environments
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects with changing requirements and priorities, and discuss highly technical topics with non-technical staff
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools
  • Ability to deliver projects within tight deadlines

Experience in the following technologies/software/methodologies:

  • Managing, configuring Java-based server applications
  • VMware ESXi VM and storage management
  • Spine\leaf switching architecture
  • Isolated hosted networking and storage networking (FC or iSCSI)
  • Database technologies (both RDBMS and document-based)
  • Security, as it applies to publicly available hosted applications, including firewall management (ACL, NAT, etc)
  • Linux operating systems
  • Enterprise-grade monitoring solutions
  • General appliance command line management

Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 (though there is flexibility on this for the right candidate)

Hours of work are 35 hours per week - including an early finish one day a week. Inclusion in the on call rota, with some weekend and bank holiday working will be required.

The position is primarily homeworking, with the requirement to attend our UK company offices on occasions as and when needed.
