Senior Front End Developer at Route2

Job Description:

We're looking for an ambitious, motivated and product-focused senior front-end developer who is also passionate about human rights, the environment and making a difference. Your role will be to develop the front end for our platform, to lead our frontend team, and to build out our design system alongside our extremely talented UI&UX designer. Your work will be central to our product and the role is expected to grow with the company.

The role is a server- and client-side front end development role with a significant product ownership and team development responsibility. You will build the interface to a product that our clients will use every day, including organisation management, complex data interfaces and reporting.

You'll be joining a tight-knit team consisting of our CTO, three software engineers, a UI/UX designer and QA and product support. Whilst your primary role will be delivering high-quality, well-tested and performant JavaScript, you'll also be expected to provide frontend leadership and mentorship.

Interview Process

• We go through this process, with dropouts at each stage:
• A 30 minute role-fit and culture chat - what are you looking for, do you understand - the role we're hiring for, does your background and expectations make you a potential fit for it?
• A 45 minute pair programming exercise followed by a 15 minute technical discussion - to evaluate your programming ability and domain-specific experience.
• A 60 minute discussion of our system and architecture (with our code alongside), decisions we have made and may make, and their potential future impacts on our business to assess your ability to help guide our architectural choices.
• After that we'll either offer you a job, or give you a breakdown of why we don't think you're a fit for the role.
