To be successful in this role you will be required to be a part of a fast paced team to deliver customer-focused and engaging web services. Some of your duties will include:
Use front-end coding languages and web development skills to develop and maintain the departments' websites and web applications.
Have an active working knowledge of back end coding languages to be able to manage PHP based & data-driven applications
Knowledge and skills using content management systems (Matrix CMS), as well as in HTML, JavaScript, jQuery and CSS
Ensure technical website development meets Queensland Government Information Standards, accessibility standards, best practice in web, and legislative requirements.
Provide advice and direction to departmental clients regarding web strategies and solutions.
Deliver assigned jobs and projects to agreed timelines and within key performance indicators.
Follow processes and procedures, manage workloads, and provide advice and recommendations to provide quality customer service.
Role requirements include the following:
content management systems - Squiz Matrix CMS (preferred)
HTML5 - JavaScript/jQuery
CSS/SASS/LESS
RESTful web services
Bootstrap
KnockoutJS, AngularJS or other MV* frameworks
PHP and Laravel experience
Shell scripting
Git or other SCM
MySQL
ArcGIS RESTful services or Google Maps
UX/UI wireframing
AGILE project management
A diploma or degree in information technology, web development or similar from a recognised tertiary institution, or equivalent academic qualifications, is highly desirable.
Experience in content development and visual communication, website interface design, navigation design, and information architecture would be highly regarded.
