Introduction IBM has internally invested to support a number of start ups. In our start-up we are using proven technologies and patents from IBM to seek to transform the effectiveness and efficiency of healthcare delivery through the introduction of intelligent workflows supported by artificial intelligence.
Our overall aim is to develop new methods of continuous service improvement which will eventually streamline a care pathway, improve patient outcomes and optimise the sustainability of healthcare provision. This is achieved through the reduction in the number of non-value adding tasks currently conducted by the clinical workforce and the provision of data-driven service improvement insights.
The vision for the enabling technology is a platform that provides “plug and play” integration with existing NHS digital systems, data-driven coordination of patient care across provider collaboratives enabled through the use of artificial intelligence, robotic process automation and unwarranted variation detection and analysis.

Your Role and Responsibilities Purpose of Role
We have an immediate opening for a Full Stack Developer / Engineer. As a Full Stack Engineer, you will help develop our new tech stack to deliver our solution to our clients and then help maintain it using industry standard best practices. You will have access to the latest education, tools, and technology to help guide growth and change for clients and your career.
This is a newly created position to work across the start-up to build a first-class technology environment, an exceptional IT service for users, and continually secure their valuable data. Given the size of the team, it is imperative that the incoming candidate comes from a strong hands-on full stack development background and has remained involved at a technical level to date in their career.
You will have a successful track record of technical delivery using best practice and appropriate solution architectures. A background in healthcare application development is desirable. For the right candidate it will be a great opportunity to be involved in and ultimately lead the end-to-end product development life cycles- from ideation through to discovery, launch and expansion of new offerings and features.

The Immediate Agenda Contribute to an evolving team with a growth mindset, creating clarity and influencing the team strategy Fully understand business operations to then create, implement and execute a cohesive Technology strategy which will enable the business objectives Develop, build and maintain the stack using industry standards and best practices Communicate with clients, project managers, and business analysts using technical expertise, risk and objectives Maintain a growth mindset with peers Uphold and maintain the Software Development Life Cycle Process Create a positive relationship between users and Technology through immediate IT service improvements and consistent communication of the ongoing Technology strategy. Review the current Information Security posture. Implement a project governance process for how requirements are assessed, approved, implemented and (most importantly) adopted. Collaborate with a team of experts in research, machine learning/deep learning, software development, healthcare business analysts, as well as clinicians to support AI development and deployment Given that these are the key priorities, the core requirement is to identify a hands on candidate who can evidence a track-record delivering these initiatives successfully and are motivated to really make a difference in a business which is fully invested in creating a first-class Technology environment.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise Extensive experience required in a highly innovative and fast paced environment A solid background in algorithms, data structures and solving impactful technical problems at scale Hands on experience of the following: Full Stack Software Engineering environment Software Development Life Cycle processes Create and maintain fully automated CI/CD build processes Strong programming skills in at least one language (Python and Java script) Database technologies, such as, DB2, Postgress, MSSQL, MySQL, Moria, Mongo, Dynamo Proficient in front-end and back-end integrations Deep knowledge and experience of deploying, securing and operating services hosted in Public Cloud Kubernetes, Networking, Cloud security operations, Devsecops Creation and maintenance of data models SQL development and administration Data virtualisation development (client dashboard creation) Knowledge and experience with Machine Learning models including Deep Learning Proficient in Windows or Linux server environments Proficient in source control (Gilt or SVN) Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related fields Excellent communication skills
