About the role

We now require an experienced Senior Full stack Developer / Architect to build out secure, optimised code, SaaS solutions and products. You will see the “big picture” and create approaches for software design and implementation to guide the growing development team. A great full stack developer has a strong technical background and is aware of the industry content they work in. They are experienced in design and possess the ability to develop a unified vision for software features and functions.

The core role is to provide a framework for the development of software that will result in high quality IT solutions across multiple sectors. The successful candidate will be comfortable in the start-up environment and ready to tackle the challenge themselves. Short term there are a number of projects to build against, longer term this will evolve to a senior leadership position within a growing digital tech team, managing key stakeholders and maturing the business’ homemade solutions. We will work closely with the successful candidate to develop their skills and career further.

Responsibilities:

  • Be ready and able to build MVP’s, responding to the tactical needs of the business
  • Support our CDO to architect the future digital ambition of the business, within a secure, interoperable software stack
  • Optimise the design of solutions to be efficient, low code, cost controlled and scalable
  • Help sweat our internal capabilities and tools leveraging the insights generated from one of the UK's fastest growing EV networks
  • Use tools and methodologies to create representations for functions and user interface of desired products
  • Develop product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility
  • Define all aspects of development from appropriate technology and workflow to coding standards
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers
  • Ensure software meets all requirements with a focus on security, quality and scalability
  • API development and writing technical documentation
  • Perform software testing, troubleshooting, and debugging
  • Data protection and security
  • Mobile responsiveness and accessible design
  • Work with BA, data scientists and analysts

Requirements:

  • High competency in Microsoft packages and Azure including .NET, SQL, WebApps, Functions, Enterprise Service Bus
  • Proven experience as a software architect (SaaS, enterprise swarms, interoperability, SDK, API's, UML)
  • Experience in MERN Stack and familiar with common stacks
  • Experience of applying Scrum, Agile, TDD, BDD, DDD etc.
  • Industry standards insight and experience of implementation and accreditation (e.g. ISO27001)
  • Experience in software development, quality assurance principals and coding in various languages
  • Knowledge in clouds services especially Azure & microservices
  • A technical mindset with great attention to details
  • MSc/MA in computer science, engineering or relevant field preferable
  • Good communication skills and strong project management skills
  • Experience in leading projects preferable
  • Strong knowledge in back-end & front-end languages and libraries such as Node / JS / jQuery / Ruby / GoLang / Python
  • Write clean code and working knowledge of version control systems such as git
  • +3 years of work experience as a Full Stack developer
  • Ability to design data intensive applications preferable

Additional: IoT experience (e.g. Thread / Matter) useful but not essential at this time.
