DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Senior Manager to help define a new developer experience for building Amazon.com.We are building tools, framework, templating language and IDE integrations, rendering engine, and runtime libraries used by thousands of engineers around the world. As a team, we set the bar for shopping features and overall developer experience including deploying client/server side code and frontend rendering. Our customer base gives us incredible leverage and the spotlight is often on us. We think in terms of frameworks not features and build tools and languages.

As leader of this organization, you set the business and technical direction for multiple groups of talented engineers. You work with software developers, designers, and experts in accessibility. You collaborate with product managers and senior leaders across Amazon. You experiment with site-wide designs, potentially driving millions of dollars in revenue.

Responsibilities include direct management of multiple software development teams. You take part in strategic planning, lead through your leaders, and build mechanisms for continuous operational excellence. You measure and report on your business to partner teams and senior leadership on a regular cadence. You write world-class documents that set the bar for clear, concise communication. You’re great at setting priorities and have a track record of delivering results in ambiguous, fast-paced environments. You create an environment of high standards and great work-life balance for your team. We measure success by increasing developer productivity, minimizing latency, maximizing availability, and driving a cohesive experience across Amazon pages.

As a technical leader at Amazon, you help drive the overall architecture and engineering practices. You solve problems at Amazon scale, which means high impact and visibility. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams

· Experience in partnering with product and program management teams

· 3+ years of people management experience, managing engineers

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Strong experience in compiler development, starting from architecture through several generations of delivery to customers.

· Strong experience in programming languages including Kotlin.

· Strong Experience building scalable, highly available web services or applications.

· Deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly

· Sense of humor and ability to work while having fun!
