Reporting to Website Manager
We are looking for an Assistant Front End Developer to join our team to enable us to develop our websites, CRM system (Salesforce), eCommerce experience (Shopify), email platform (Pardot) and other online communication tools. This is a new role that will provide development, technical support and operational maintenance. We’re data driven and put our customers at the heart of our work. As a growing organisation, we work in a fast-paced environment but one where we nurture talent, share ideas and work collaboratively.
Your Key Responsibilities
Coding new features, layouts and functionality into the college’s websites and other digital platforms to ensure optimum customer experience. Improving the existing digital experience including reconfiguring the websites, updating our current tech stack, and maintaining the websites. A key role in developing systems, interfaces and integrating new technologies.
Supporting end-users though training, documenting and providing technical solutions and innovative new ideas.
Working with the department’s graphic designer to continuously improve the design, UI and UX of the digital platforms.
Our Successful Candidate
Good knowledge of HTML and CSS or any CSS preprocessor such as LESS or SCSS
Knowledge of JavaScript (vanilla and libraries such as jQuery)
Experience of using BitBucket or any other source control tools
Knowledge of cross browser, platform and device testing
Develop with a responsive and mobile first coding mentality
Knowledge of SEO best practices
Good teamwork and communication skills, keen to learn and grow skill set
