Job Description:

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience. • Experience with Python and testing/releasing networking products.

Preferred qualifications:

• 8 years of experience with cellular technologies. • Experience with Wireless NR Phy/MAC, upper layer (PDCP, TCP/IP) and control plane protocols, such as Network Attached Storage (NAS) and IMS. • Proficiency with measurement automation tools and scripting languages (i.e. C/C++, SCPI, Python, Perl, MATLAB). • Knowledge of test software development fundamentals and code management. • Excellent communication skills.

As a Networking Test Engineer you make sure that our massive and growing network is operating at its peak potential. You have hands-on experience with complex networking equipment, a deep understanding of networking protocols, test design and implementation chops and a background in IP network design. It's your job to make sure Google's cutting-edge technology can perform at scale.

You maintain and troubleshoot networking features and systems, collaborate internally to evaluate and resolve network designs and issues, and develop test plans and processes. You may also lead projects, providing expertise to team members, and manage projects timelines, resources and activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate test cases for mobile devices and cellular technologies using popular test development platforms. • Utilize knowledge of 3GPP specifications and experience in LTE Air Interface, PHY, MAC, RLC, Radio Resource Control (RRC), PDCP and NAS layer, and showcase networking protocol knowledge (TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, STUN, VoIP) protocols. • Work closely with various support organizations, logistics, and cross-functional teams for device launches. • Utilize range of knowledge to evaluate full network system architecture. • Assist engineering teams on test setups and testing best practices. Analyze the product and feature requirements, converting them into system test cases and execution to ensure product meets customer spec.
