Our tech

We develop web and mobile applications with scalable backend services in a variety of different languages and frameworks, with AWS as our primary cloud platform. Our CI/CD infrastructure varies with what makes sense — we have to balance customer requirements with making sure we have the right languages, frameworks and tools for the job and you will be an integral part of influencing these choices of technology.

Responsibilities

As a Solutions Architect you will be:

  • Working with product and clients to capture and document requirements into a form which can then be implemented by developers
  • Playing a key role in new business and Discovery pieces
  • Using cloud knowledge to suggest changes to infrastructure and architecture as well as design systems for new projects whilst taking into account: Scalability, Reliability, Security, and Monitorability
  • Providing advice and support with improvements to a project for CI/CD, development and software & system architecture, deployment, testing and hosting
  • Being able to get hands-on evaluating and ‘spiking’ technology
  • Mentoring, providing challenge and feedback for engineers across the whole team
  • Working with multiple projects to help with continuous improvement and support cross pollination of ideas from different platform

Requirements

  • A background in software engineering in technologies such as Java, .NET or JavaScript
  • Proven track record of architecting and delivering performant enterprise-scale solutions
  • Good knowledge of Cloud Architecture in AWS or Azure
  • Experience in technically leading the Discovery process
  • Thinks in terms of products and systems, not just software
  • Experienced in mentoring developers in architecture and engineering best practices and the outcomes of your work
  • A good understanding of managing non-functional requirements and technical debt
  • Able to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
