SOFTWARE TESTER/QA ENGINEER

Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our development team as a Software Tester.

This is a full time, permanent role based at our Support Centre in Speke, Liverpool.

This is a rare opportunity to be in a secure start up and help to set up everything right, first time. The right person will possess exceptional analytical skills in test case and test plan design, test automation and bug diagnosis.

The Key Accountabilities in the role are:

• Developing new automated tests using the best tools for the job. • Working with stakeholders, business analysts, architects, and developers to define software requirements and ensure the software is developed with testability in mind. • Develop a strong understanding of our software products, their purpose, and mechanics to ensure adequate test coverage at all levels. • Help improve internal processes and encourage best practices and behaviours.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience & skills:

• 3+ years experience in a similar role. • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools. • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes. • Experience providing and consuming RESTful web services and JSON. • Demonstrated experience testing cloud solutions. • Experience with SQL and database queries. • Knowledge of internet protocols, web proxies, caching, and other Web related fundamentals. • Strong analytical and creative thinking skills, and being adaptable to a fast-paced environment • Experience writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test strategies, plans and test cases. • Strong commitment to technical quality assurance as a key part of the software development cycle.
