Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS)

Curtin is Western Australia’s largest university. With a global presence, it aims to transform lives and communities through education and research. The Digital and Technology Solutions (DTS) team at Curtin provide the enterprise digital platforms that support Curtin’s students and staff.

The DTS team is full steam ahead on modernising our technology platforms, and working with stakeholders to define the digital future for Curtin University. There is an enormous amount of work to be done - it is bleeding edge and we promise you won’t be bored!

Aside from our exciting technology transformation projects, we are also transforming how we work! We are moving to a matrix structure of cross functional teams whose delivery is aligned to University purpose.

In your role as Developer, you will be responsible for carrying out development and maintenance as well as assisting with Level 3 support of the University’s applications and interfaces and/or contributing to integration projects. You will work in a collaborative environment to design, code, test, and document solutions and enhancements based on an understanding of business needs and problems and, using recognised industry standards and methodologies. You will also provide operational support and maintenance of in-house developed or customised applications and systems.

Here’s what we’re looking for

A relevant degree with considerable relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. A full stack web application developer with 1-3 years of hands-on experience in .Net MVC, AngularJS/Angular. Practical experience as a developer and experience in relevant programming languages. Demonstrated skills in relevant tools and technologies. Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to design solutions which support the achievement of business outcomes. Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to continually keep abreast of general developments, innovations and research in ICT, with an emphasis on technologies for web-delivered content and applications. Demonstrated well-developed verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated interpersonal skills with a personal commitment to achieving the highest levels of client focus, along with proven ability to interact professionally with clients. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, determine own work priorities and work effectively as part of a team.

Ideally, you will also have:

Experience working in AWS / Azure cloud Experience in PHP, WordPress and React. Experience working with Agile development methodologies. Experience working in a university or higher education environment and an awareness of the uses of ICT within universities.
