Job Description:

The Cyber Security Associate Consultant - Assurance will have the following responsibilities:

  • Follows standard approaches for the technical assessment of information systems against information assurance policies and business objectives.
  • Signpost issues with information assurance using security policies from a multitude of organisations.
  • Research and investigate attack techniques, new vulnerabilities and support team understanding.
  • Review and performs risk assessments and risk treatment plans.
  • Identify typical risk indicators and explain prevention measures.
  • Maintain awareness of key business and industry trends, and understanding how they impact cyber risk.
  • Be the point of escalation for support issues with our clients, with the ability to capture and signpost to appropriate resolvers in the team.
  • Interact with stakeholders across our immediate team and some organisations.
  • Provides feedback on Assurance processes and services to assist delivery.
  • Supports orchestration of system certification and accreditation.
  • Maintains integrity of records to support and justify decisions.
  • Support the planning and documentation of services and projects.
  • Advise on pragmatic solutions to service issues, escalating where necessary.
  • Track trends in industry and bring to the team interesting topics and intelligence.

Requirements

You'll need to demonstrate or hold:

  • SC clearance, previously held it, or able and willing to pass the process
  • Relevant transferable skills
  • Support experience or a background in IT
  • Working as an effective member of a team
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals
  • Interest in common scripting and programming languages
  • Good stakeholder management, presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to work with and learn complex software platforms
  • Ability to think creatively to solve problems
  • Teamwork skills, to support colleagues and share techniques
  • Besides the technical side, we want someone with an organisational flair and customer service brain that can run and improve our service
  • You will bring ideas of how to drive the team forward, reduce costs and have a desire to become skilled in the technical aspects of security assurance
  • Our consultancy has multiple products, which you will operate based on guidance from our Cyber Security Senior Consultant and Principal

This role will require you to have or be willing to go through Security Clearance. As part of the onboarding process candidates will be asked to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard; details of the evidence required to apply may be found on the government website Gov.UK. If you are unable to meet this and any associated criteria, then your employment may be delayed, or rejected . Details of this will be discussed with you at interview.
