The role

We are advertising for a Senior Web Developer to join Digital Development Services as part of the STEM Technical Services team in Milton Keynes. The team develop websites and online administration systems for a range of research projects using a variety of technologies and programming languages, focusing on clean secure code and innovative design.

Your daily tasks will include undertaking full-stack web development, including creating and managing databases and using Linux environments. The applicant will also need to plan, create, test and deliver well documented web services. Given the changing requirements of the role, the applicant will be required to learn new skills and capabilities in short timeframes.

Skills and Experience:

  • Develop, test and maintain websites.
  • Proficiency of the Laravel PHP framework
  • Provide technical support to any users of web sites you have produced.
  • Create reports and documentation to support web sites and web applications.
  • Continuing professional development, to learn new web development skills in order to support the creation of web-based services.
