Digital Audit is a specialist team within our Audit practice that combines a mix of technology, data, business and accounting expertise to how we audit clients across all industries. There are two sides to Digital Audit which include; using our latest tools to help digitise the way we deliver audits through automation, AI, data analytics and innovation - known as Digital Auditing. The other side is Auditing Digital which involves auditing our client’s technology to give them assurance that security and controls are in place. This includes infrastructure, Cloud, and applications.

Job Description

As a Senior Associate, you will be responsible for working directly with a wide range of clients and engagement teams to establish and implement PwC’s data extraction tools and techniques.The role will be integral to the success of our broader Digital Audit strategy and will enable you to build a strong understanding for the role data acquisition plays in the modern day audit.

Day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Be able to articulate the value of the data extraction tools - to all relevant stakeholders (ELs, ETs, Clients)

  • Developing and owning strong relationships with engagement teams to support a high level of uptake of the data extraction tools

  • Overseeing a portfolio of target clients - both your own and supporting junior team members with their portfolio - to ensure the successful onboarding the appropriate data extraction tools for their ERPs, from proposition of the extraction tool through to extraction of the required data

  • Foresee challenges that would arise during the implementation and help provide solutions to those challenges

  • Lead troubleshooting of issues encountered during the installation, extraction and data transformation processes, using a suite of tools including Airflow, Django and MySQL, getting hands on with more complex issues and engaging with support teams in other territories or our Global support team as required, building relationships with those teams in the process.

  • Support tool integration to expand data acquisition coverage, including supporting pilots for ERPs in the future roadmap for data acquisition

  • Support future application development to improve the value provided to audit of the acquisition suite, including supporting pilots for wider use cases of the tools

  • Ensuring our pipeline of clients is actively maintained and monitored, helping to deliver timely progress reporting to senior stakeholders with an awareness of the status of your portfolio and that of junior team members

The following skills are required for this role:

Essential skills:

  • Develop a technical design for extraction, transformation & load of data from multiple source systems into a pre-defined template

  • Some knowledge/experience of existing data extraction methods on one or more ERPs (SAP, Oracle, JDE, People Soft)

  • Experience of working with Database management, setup, maintenance and infrastructure.

  • Technical mindset and awareness of some of the complexities of data acquisition (databases, VPNs, encryption/security)

  • Understanding of audit requirements and having some technical competency (SQL/Python/Power BI, API’s, Snaplogic, GITHub) to support troubleshooting and application development.

  • Experience in DevOps and software development project management

  • Good presentation/communication and influencing skills

  • Strong ‘customer service’ mindset

In addition, we expect all our people in DA3 to demonstrate:

  • Good time and job management skills, communication skills and strong ability to work across a number of separate projects simultaneously while maintaining contact with other team members

  • Strong market credentials in data & analytics working with large organisations and an ability to demonstrate knowledge and insight in data management, data cleansing and data analytics within the audit process;

  • Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, including communication with senior stakeholders of a non-data background (being able to communicate technical issues in simple business terms) and excellent reporting writing skills;

  • Proven analytical and problem solving capabilities on complex engagements

  • Potential and ambition to develop a long -term career in PwC.

Qualifications

At least a year’s experience working in data analytics or data related environments.
