The Role

The ideal candidate will have the confidence to propose pragmatic solutions to complex problems and be eager to learn from and educate others. As a DevOps Engineer working for our Casino vertical, you will work amongst multidisciplinary teams, autonomously tackling complex challenges that provide the very best experiences and products as we build out an exciting and innovative customer experience within the fast paced and growing Casino environment. You thrive on technological advancement of the team and always working towards its improvement.

What you will do:

  • Develop infrastructure through reusable code with automated tooling and tests
  • Ensure services are monitored effectively using application and system metrics
  • Understand the complexities of working with multi-tier applications and scaling of - distributed systems across data centres and cloud
  • Deliver new features and tooling for both business and technical stakeholders
  • Support engineers in building pipelines using Buildkite
  • You focus on operational excellence, constructively identifying problems and - proposing solutions
  • On-call rotation where required
  • Help recruit and interview
  • Mentor and help to develop others
  • Most importantly, you are; humble, pragmatic, self-managed, thirsty for knowledge, never satisfied and always challenging the norm

Qualifications and abilities:

  • AWS - everything from IAM, Lambda, Cloudfront, RDS and Dynamo
  • Docker, Kubernetes and Helm
  • Terraform
  • Code in one or more programming languages, such as Python, Node.JS or Java
  • Use of a monitoring platform (we use Datadog) for application observability
  • Familiar with Git and GitHub
  • Knowing how an app should be designed and built for the cloud
  • Being comfortable authoring documentation and sharing with your peers
  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
  • Familiarity working in an Agile environment
  • Maintain relationships with other disciplines and stakeholders
