About the role:

We are looking for an experienced lead architect with a successful track record of leading teams on complex multi-domain projects/programmes. This is an exciting opportunity for you to help us grow our technology consulting practice.

You will ensure delivery of various technical solutions for our clients and work closely on our projects overseeing multiple architecture domains, delivering on the technical governance, roadmaps, and designs for new or enhanced solutions. The role will require strong problem-solving skills, leadership and senior stakeholder engagement drawing on experience from a strong technical background. You will be asked to engage with existing vendors and 3rd party management as well as providing technical assurance. Our clients work with a range of technologies from large web, microservice implementation programmes with a mix of COTS and bespoke developments for the public sector, to small software developments for start-ups. As well as working with our clients, we would expect you to play an active role in building the technical capabilities of our organisation and helping us to diversify the technology services we offer.

About You:

As an architect you should be equally comfortable working on detailed technical solutions as you are producing and delivering technical roadmaps to senior stakeholders. You should have passion and drive to design innovative solutions that are the right fit for our clients’ businesses.

You should be conscientious, client-focused, and able to work to tight deadlines, sometimes at short notice. You are reliable, self-motivated, and able to work without close supervision. You will need to be technically proficient with impressive analytic and communication skills; comfortable with talking to clients at all levels and enjoy the variety of working on different projects. You will have worked in high pressure environments and been able to manage a range of stakeholder groups effectively. You are likely to be an experienced architect, with a strong track record of application delivery and possibly with a management consultancy or solution integrator background. Any experience of enterprise-level applications and their integration with other systems would also be highly desirable.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills and a team player
  • Experience of operating at CxO level and managing 3rd Parties
  • Strong technical background (software engineering, cloud computing)
  • Experience of architecture Governance Practices using existing frameworks e.g., TOGAF
  • Consulting experience, ideally with large organisations
  • Knowledge of Data Architecture and understanding of database design and programming
  • Proven history of solution architecture delivery
  • Experience of Agile and Waterfall development methodologies
  • Scientific or technical degree, relevant professional qualification, or extensive professional experience
