What will I be doing?

As a Salesforce Engineer you would be at the heart of building the software platforms that our agents use, across our Customer Care, Complaints and Operations teams. Working in a multidisciplinary, Agile product team comprising UX, analysts, QAs, product managers and of course other software engineers like yourself - we have everything we need in one place. You would enhance the way OVO handles customer contact, case management and the overall user interface that all of our agents use.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and building features, improvements and innovations on our Agent Desktop platform
  • Consider security, performance and other non-functional requirements
  • Own and take pride in what you build
  • Supporting designers and analysts in requirements generation and provide insight into the art of the possible
  • Having a keen understanding of user experience, putting yourself into the shoes of our users
  • Help keep our test environments updated and fit for purpose
  • Participate in sprint planning to improve our cycle time and reduce bottlenecks
  • Improve processes by identifying inefficiencies and promote new ways of working

Is this job for me?

Ideally you will have:

  • Multiple years of development experience in the Salesforce ecosystem
  • Experience of working in an Agile product team, knowledge of Scrum and Kanban methodologies
  • An analytical mind to understand requirements and to design and build solutions that meet our users’ needs
  • A strong sense of user experience, especially within a lively contact centre environment, to ensure our software makes our agents’ lives easier
  • A focus on customer service, experience within a contact centre will be most helpful
  • Attention to detail, spotting the little things others might miss
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Be curious - challenge the status quo, experiment and try new things
  • Ability to prioritise workload and influence product managers on the priority of feature and bug fixes
  • A passion for technology and a will to learn new skills
  • Experience of CI/CD pipelines, JIRA, TestRail, GitHub, and contact centre platforms
