The opportunity

UKFast is looking for a PHP Developer to deliver exciting new functionalities, features and services for our next-generation Cybersecurity and Content Delivery product, DDoSX.

DDoSX is UKFast’s highly scalable, global infrastructure offering which mitigates the risk of even the most sophisticated DDoS attacks for our customers, putting vital measures in place to empower business continuity.

Working in a multi-disciplinary team following Agile and CI/CD principles, you will be a key contributor to the design and development of the team’s product roadmap. The role involves using the latest PHP technologies as well as a mixture of both client and server-side languages, including serverless computing, DNS management, AWX, automation, SSL provisioning, and RabbitMQ, to name a few.

What you will do

• Deliver on new and exciting projects utilising the latest PHP frameworks and tools. • Maintain the existing code base as required • Apply great problem-solving skills and exceptional attention to detail • Ensure code is developed in line with industry and team standards to help advance our code quality • Collaborate with stakeholders to estimate delivery and perform technical planning • Perform code reviews on changes made by members of the team and provide constructive feedback • Perform triage of bug reports and assist with help requests from across the business

What you will bring

• A passionate and energetic attitude towards problem-solving in innovative ways • Experience developing, deploying, and supporting a live product within fast- paced, Agile environments • A high level of proficiency in PHP, and practical skills using related technologies such as Laravel/Lumen, MySQL, Redis, and RabbitMQ • Experience with JavaScript, Tailwind CSS, and Vue.js • An understanding of common security issues and how to mitigate them • Experience with software engineering best practices (PHPUnit and Jest would be desirable)
