About the role:

The Site Reliability Engineer will help contribute to the growth of the FSB platform. FSB has a wide range of clients operating in the competitive online betting marketplace and are currently focusing on scaling its platform vastly. As a Site Reliability Engineer you will be working closely with the development and infrastructure to improve and maintain the reliability, stability and efficiency of the FSB platform. You will have a huge impact on FSB’s customer experience and improve the lives of the various teams working in FSB technical department.

Responsibilities:

  • Taking ownership of the platform reliability: 1.Identifying platform bottlenecks and turning them into deliverables 2.Proactively identify, monitor and alert possible improvements 3.Picking up support escalation issues related to platform performance 4.Improve on-call processes
  • Building solutions, mostly in Java, to address the solutions identified during investigation phases
  • Raising medium and large identified deliverables into internal projects (CRs)
  • Having a proactive approach to continuously improve FSB platform
  • Spreading knowledge about your assignments; mostly, but not restricted to, via team Bi-weekly catch-ups

The role day to day is therefore split as follows:

  • 50% spent on analysing performance and reliability using FSB monitoring tools, this is done across the production and qualification environments. Expected outputs: internal tasks to be addressed directly, shared with the development team or raised as an internal project (CR).
  • 50% spent working on the above outputs.

Essential Requirements (must have):

  • Core Java and EE Technologies; EJB, JPA, JTA, JMS
  • Apache Ignite/Gridgain
  • Java profiling skills (heap dump analysis, jstack investigations, gc logs processing, etc.
  • APM tool
  • PostgreSQL, MongoDB
  • Spring
  • Wildfly
  • Git
  • Maven
  • Apache Camel, Karaf
  • Vagrant
