Job Description:

About the opportunity:

We work in highly regulated environments like banks, payments providers and the UK Public Sector, designing and highly building performant, secure, automated solutions on AWS, Azure and GCP which has to perform at scale and take maximum advantage of cloud-native services.

In all the work we do, speed, efficiency and security are key.

You will perform a lead Engineer role in blended teams of Engineers, Architects, Cyber, Product and Delivery consultants. Some projects will be delivered entirely by Airwalk and some will involve members of your team working alongside the client’s own staff as part of a larger delivery team. Project oversight, from Project Managers and Scrum Masters, may be provided by Airwalk or by the client, depending on the scope of the engagement.

As a consultancy, we have many concurrent projects across different clients. Our Engineers will typically focus on one client at a time, with an average engagement lasting 6-12 months. However as a senior member of the team you may have involvement in more than one project at a time, sometimes with just an oversight/guidance role. There are also opportunities to work on interesting projects on a secondment basis across other Reply companies, and in support of wider AWS delivery teams. There are also ongoing internal projects and initiatives that Senior Engineers would contribute time to.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Airwalk your role will typically involve:

  • Helping to understand and define client Engineering requirements
  • Building automation into your work wherever possible, in particular through the automation of infrastructure deployments using Terraform
  • Building continuous integration, development and deployment pipelines Deploying containers
  • Accelerating cloud adoption by building modular, repeatable stacks, breaking down code silos and driving proper Git usage and implementing dev, test, release and support processes for multi-cloud deployments
  • You will guide and mentor more junior Engineers and advocate modern ways of working within Airwalk and to our clients’ own teams
