Harvey Nash’s Public Sector Client are recruiting a Test Analyst on an initial 6 months contract at a rate of £300 - £350 per day, inside IR35.
Role Profile:
• Identify and design test cases and test scripts, mapping back to pre-determined criteria and maintaining traceability
• Perform systems, interface, integration and acceptance testing
• Analyse and report test activities and results.
• Initial review and initial impact assessment of unexpected results.
• Support defect triage and own reporting of unexpected or unsatisfactory outcomes according to client requirements/test strategy.
• The holder of this role will work under the direction of the Test Lead.
• Regular communication with Test Lead and other members of the Programme Team, Software Suppliers and key stakeholders to ensure sufficient test coverage.
Essential Skills:
• Experience working within software systems development lifecycle ideally on large scale national IT system solutions.
• Minimum 5-year experience of delivering test analysis in large-scale complex environments
• Minimum 1-year previous Public Sector Testing experience
• Ability to understand, interpret, deliver and measure against business-driven requirements
• Familiar with Test Management Tools (e.g. HP Quality Centre/ALM)
• Clear organisation, analysis and structured thinking skills
• Experience of working in business critical environments
• Able to apply risk-based testing principles.
• Working knowledge of SQL
• Good all round IT skills, with experience of the Microsoft Office Suite
Desirable Skills:
• Longer and / or recent experience of test analysis in complex environments and/or public sector than required in the Essential skills definition will give an advantage
• Recent database experience including confidence in maintaining and querying SQL databases.
• Knowledge of client, server and networking technologies.
• Ability to create, read and manipulate XML data.
• Experience of test automation.
• Possess testing qualification (e.g. ISEB / ISTQB / BCS) at a minimum Foundation level.
• Please note this opportunity has been determined as Inside IR35 and as such will require working through an umbrella company.
