Team description
The MIBI Team works to support business strategies by using data to create actionable intelligence and drive data based decision making.
The team engages early in business initiatives to understand where data and insight can support the development of ideas, simplify change, or be embedded in process to achieve high value outcomes.
It is then responsible for developing data & MI/BI solutions that drive business benefit. The team also supports a number of visualisation dashboards and provides ad-hoc support for data analysis request.
The team includes business and technical data analysis, data engineering, development and testing capabilities, working closely alongside architecture and integration teams.
The team works closely alongside other Technology platform teams across the group, and with the Data Protection and Data Governance organisations.
Description of role and key responsibilities
- The Data analyst is a key role that will lead on engaging colleagues to analyse data demand, translate ideas into data solutions and support data literacy.
- They will drive data solution design in conjunction with supporting capabilities, managing dependencies and maturing requirements through prototyping and collaboration.
- They will remain engaged and provide a pivot for all parties from idea through to delivery using a variety of approaches to provide support.
- They will be responsible for analysing datasets, developing data models, designs, and dashboards, ensuring hand-off to engineering teams, whilst contributing to data strategy and performing data testing.
- They will gain an in-depth understanding of Business data, its purpose, lineage, transformation and product within our processes.
- They will maintain key artefacts to support governance and metadata/data management and they will ensure adherence to data governance processes.
- They will draw insight from data and share in support of continuous improvement across the organisation.
Core skills and knowledge
- A confident and passionate data professional with broad experience of data in a complex regulated change environment.
- A statistical thinker with deep data analysis interest and experience.
- Passionate about Value and laser focussed on delivery, with the ability to think fast and act fast in a high pace environment.
- Current with emerging data trends and technologies, yet also able to call on a breadth of experience to manage legacy data challenges.
- Excellent stakeholder management with the ability to articulate technical data content to any audience.
- Data Analysis, Modelling, Design, Architecture, testing, implementation and visualisations
- MS Azure, Azure Data Factory, SQL, Data Vault, Synapse, PowerBI (Dev), Excel, API’s, AD, Key Vault.
- An inherent, Infosec, Data Governance and data protection mind-set.
- An AI / ML enthusiast an advocate
- Data cataloguing, dictionaries and metadata management
- Agile practices
