Network Cloud Engineer

We are looking for Network Cloud Engineers to join our new Cloud Competency Center in Colombia.

Summary of the Role:

As part of the Cloud Competency Center you will configure and deploy infrastructure in Azure and will build, operate, and scale more than 200 OpenShift and Kubernetes platforms operating in both public and private clouds. In addition, traditional networking equipment must be maintained for on-prem deployments. These platforms are responsible to host Amadeus’ global platforms serving over 200 airlines, 6000 hotel properties. By joining our team, you will be at the forefront of Amadeus’ technology transformation as it enables all our business segments to leverage the capabilities of a modern cloud-native application.

In this role you’ll:

  • Design, deploy and operate on premises networking equipment & public cloud (Azure or AWS or GCP) for Production environment

  • Define and implement relevant monitoring and alerting

  • Write Infrastructure as Code modules

  • Define and evangelize cloud-related optimizations and best practices to improve reliability, stability and performance

  • Work closely with Architects and Software Engineers from various product teams to implement new initiatives

  • Conduct proof concepts and studies to deploy new hardware or software functionalities to the IaaS platform

  • Work with the developer community to understand business objectives and convert them into workable prototypes

  • Responsible for solving network connectivity issues, adding/modifying NAT entries and firewall rules to enable connectivity

  • Provide network configuration support and document client requirements

  • Work with clients to ensure that data flow diagrams are accurately completed to provide exact network connectivity

  • Coordinate required changes working alongside other network and firewall teams

  • Support Cloud Architects to provide operations and migration services that allow organizations/clients to style the availability and delivery of cloud computing services following business and technical requirements Responsible for the upgrade, installation, and configuration of monitoring solution for Azure systems

  • Provide report on current infrastructure status and plan for future usage

  • Responsible for the configuration and support of backbones connection over DirectConnect (AWS), ExpressRoute (Azure), and an array of direct BPE connection handled over CSR1000

  • Utilize approved tools to verify and take required action on events aggregated from network monitoring tools and Web Application Firewall

  • Responsible for troubleshooting to ascertain root cause of issues

  • Perform network system updates, patches, and configuration changes

  • Map network layouts and configure systems to user environments. ### You are the ideal candidate if you:

  • University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field(s)

  • Knowledge and experience in Terraform, TerraGunt, Python, Java, Go, Kafka, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Groovy, Terraform, TerraGunt

  • Have a solid grasp of scalability, stability and security challenges of a customer-centric, cloud-based applications

  • Experience in troubleshooting network, security and infrastructure issues in a large enterprise environment along with solid scripting skills

  • Experience running a sizeable environment (1000+ devices)

  • Quick learning, sense of urgency based on impact, excellent time management

  • Networking concepts In-depth knowledge of the complete TCP/IP protocol suite including IP addressing scheme and subnetting and NAT/PAT

  • In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN (routers, switchers), DMZ

  • Knowledge of Internet security and security concepts (firewalling, RADIUS, TACACS) Good knowledge of Internet principles and technologies (DNS, VPN concepts and SSL)

  • Knowledge of LAN principles and protocols (Token Ring, Ethernet, Translation Bridging, Netbios,)

  • Ability to explore public cloud providers (mostly Azure) & build technical solutions to solve business problems

  • CI/CD pipeline (Jenkins, Artifactory, bitbucket, GIT) and have know-how encryption and certificates concepts

  • Love embracing new technologies and bringing innovative solutions to the table
