Job Overview

Lead Python Engineer is required to join a scaling fintech / ecommerce unicorn that is scaling in the UK and looking to hire a brand new team this year. Having raised circa $45 Million to date and with future funding rounds imminent this company is looking to change the way and ease at which consumers shop providing fintech solutions and social communities around this. As they scale they are looking for a lead backend python engineer to join the team and deliver a number of greenfield features!

Job Description

The Role As the business grows and scales over the next few years they are looking for a lead backend python engineer to join and build out world class and globally scalable software. This is a mixed role where you were spend your time leading a feature squad but also remaining hands on to deliver high quality software. You will use your knowledge of producing scalable systems to communicate with team members throughout the business to ensure the software produced is in line with product roadmap.

You Will –

  • Lead a team of engineers building greenfield products
  • Exploring ways to scale these systems
  • Improving the product
  • Collaborate with product
  • Work across a wide range of web, browser, network and backend services and infrastructure

About you

As a lead backend python engineer for this scaling start up you will have a number of skills that will help you succeed in this role!

  • Experience leading and managing engineering teams
  • Extensive Experience with Python and frameworks like Django, FastAPI and Flask
  • Extensive experience with k8’s and AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Experience building and optimizing API’s
  • Solid experience in software design and architecture
  • Solid experience in a problem solving role.

As a lead backend engineer for this scaling start up you can expect to earn £100k - £120k and be expected to come to the London office twice a week.
