DevOps Engineering is at the core of what we do. As a B2B cloud-based subscription app serving patients and clinicians, the resilience, performance, and durability of our products is of the top importance to us as a company. Your role will be to stay on top of the release management lifecycle including scheduling and coordinating releases across the company while looking after our deployments for our first customers. You'll focus on the bigger picture and views the development and release processes linked to our objectives. Coming on early to the company's journey, you'll have the chance to design and build new ideas for infrastructure, release management, site reliability, performance, and others.

The Lead DevOps Engineer is responsible for the automation of all manual tasks for the building and deployment of both code and data in order to enable continuous integration and continuous deployment frameworks. The person spearheads the creation of new technology infrastructures and maintains configuration management and automation tools. The person conducts training with junior engineers and other engineering roles on how to build processes where dependencies are represented clearly in code. It’s a critical operational role that troubleshoots issues in development systems and is also responsible for the architecture and technical leadership of the entire infrastructure.

The position will be fully remote to comply with COVID-19 workspace rules. We are looking for people who are available to start as soon as possible.

Full-time work is preferred, and we are open to discuss a part-time option for strong, motivated candidates.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Work closely with company leadership and the Chief Architect to design a development and deployment infrastructure that meets our needs and our customers’ needs elegantly.
  • Create the automation of configuration management of all development, quality assurance, and production servers as well as the automation of continuous integration and continuous delivery.
  • Schedule, manage and coordinate releases across multiple applications within various portfolios across different teams and projects to deploy in any environment.
  • Manage and mitigate risks and resolve issues regarding release quality and schedule. Continuously monitor projects and provide reports about their progress.
  • Collaborate with other teams in the navigation of technologies such as PHP, Laravel, VUE, Python, MariaDB, MySQL, Azure SQL DB, etc. Coach the engineering development department personnel in the workings of reusable tools and patterns, for example, reusable code.
  • Monitor the release process and collect feedback from our teams and our customers for review.

Your Education and Experience:

  • Completed a BSc in computer science or a related field
  • Masters’ or equivalent experience
  • Previous cloud, web and mobile app deployment experience
  • 2+ years Microsoft Azure development and deployment experience
  • Training and knowledge of DevOps platforms and practices, e.g. Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Chef, Github
