PHP Full Stack Developer at Ocasta

Job Description:

An opportunity has arisen to join our team as a Full Stack PHP developer.

Ideally you will have at least 1-2 years experience working with PHP and at least one major Framework. You will be joining our developers building and maintaining a large sales and lead management system for a major retailer. This system is built with CakePHP. If you know that, great. If not, don't worry we'll teach you.

If you have a proven ability to develop custom solutions, are good at solving problems and learning new skills and have commercial experience in some or all of these technologies please get in touch. We are happy to give the right candidate the opportunity to learn and improve in any areas required. As a distributed team we also value good communication skills.

You should also be familiar with the tools required for software development. This includes a good understanding of Git, local development environments, coding standards and general computer maintenance and security. You should be willing to adapt to the processes implemented at Ocasta.

In 2020 we abandoned our office and are now fully remote. With remote working comes more flexibility for all of us and we are happy to adjust your working hours around your commitments.

Activities:

  • Work with other developers or alone to design and deliver new features with PHP
  • Collaborate with our designers and project managers to specify new features
  • Join our daily online project stand-ups
  • Create automated tests
  • Learn new skills
  • Introduce new ideas and techniques to improve our products and processes
  • Support and bug fix new and existing code
  • Perform code reviews - helping you and other team members write better code
  • Participate in project planning

Maternity & Adoption

Until you’ve been with us for two years you will get full pay for six weeks when having or adopting a baby. Then up to an additional 33 weeks are paid at the government’s statuary rate Once you’ve been with us for more than two years this increases to full pay for eight weeks when having a baby. Then up to an additional 31 weeks are paid at the government’s statuary rate
