About the Role
The Travel team at Uber builds some of the highest traffic core features of both the rider and driver applications at Uber. This role presents an opportunity to work new product initiatives that the company is passionate about. We develop exciting projects that elevate the experience for Uber's customers and help make their travel hassle-free. Also, we are responsible for some of the high impact airport-related projects, giving you a unique exposure and learning experience.
As a Full Stack Web Engineer on the Travel team, you'll work on the code behind apps used by millions of customers globally every day. In hundreds of cities, people tap their phones to get a ride, get food delivered, or earn extra cash with Uber. Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
• Experience coding using general purpose programming language like C/C++, Java, Python, Go, or C#
• Experience using Javascript and web frameworks like React, Angular, Vue, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
• At least two (2) years of software engineering experience
• Experience with HTTP/REST and web technologies like gRPC and Protobufs
• Experience working with and instrumenting web-metrics, monitoring and analytics systems
• Deep knowledge of data structures and algorithms and an ability to use them practically when implementing solutions
• Proven experience with leading projects and mentoring junior engineers
• A phenomenal teammate and owner- willing to take on ownership of the systems, and think about operations, maintenance and reliability of his/her systems
