Job Description:

Senior PHP Developer, London (hybrid), up to £65K

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Senior PHP Developer to join one of our development teams.

About the role:

Reporting to the team’s Scrum Master, the successful candidate will be expected to develop, maintain, and support our digital products in accordance with the business and technology objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with all members of the team to deliver high-quality code that is tested and delivered across the full Software Development Life Cycle
  • Participate in all Agile ceremonies, including planning meetings, stand-ups, and retrospectives
  • Ensure all code is tested and code reviewed to the highest standards
  • Adapt quickly to changing environments, concepts, and emerging technologies to assist in the future roadmap of our products and consumer experiences
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm for the craftsmanship and engineering aspects of software development
  • Have an active role in mentoring and coaching other developers Assist with the recruitment of new developers
  • Contribute to processes, documentation, and best practices

Requirements:

Essential:

  • PHP7/8, PHP Frameworks (e.g. Symfony, Laravel, etc.)
  • RESTful API development and consumption
  • Unit testing with use of mocks and dependency injection e.g. PHPUnit
  • Source Control Management (SCM) e.g. Git
  • MySQL, Database migration strategies

Desirable:

  • CMS plugin and theme development (WordPress, Drupal, etc.)
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • API Platform framework
  • Docker, Kubernetes, and containerisation in general
  • MongoDB
  • Debugging using tools such as XDebug BDD / TDD / DDD
