We’re recruiting for a highly motivated Data Developer to join our technology team at Sky
What you’ll do:
• Work closely with Data Designers and Development Scrums to ensure that the solutions we build are implemented to the highest standards. • Delivering changes to the product catalogue as well as designing and delivering data driven rules to drive the sales platform through the direct and digital sales platforms. • Identifying and building test scenarios as well as developing data validation rules to ensure the quality of any catalogue changes as specified by the business stakeholders. • Analysing requirements and recommending solutions with minimal assistance • Evidence of high degree of independent judgment for decision making and problem solving • Work as part of an Agile team that provides the commercial data and rules that drive the sales platform to provide business solutions • Contributing to continually improving the way we work by being a positive; self-motivated and engaged member of the team
What you’ll bring:
• Strong working knowledge in SQL, Java EE and JSON • Good understanding of relational and no SQL databases • Managing multiple sets of data across releases by using GIT version control • Demonstratable knowledge of understanding data and complex logic-based rules • Experience of test-driven development and associated technologies (e.g. Junit, Cucumber) • Evidence of high degree of independent judgment for decision making and problem solving • Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide written & verbal updates tailored to your audience. • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative, dynamic environment with many often conflicting demands • Working proficiency in development toolsets – Git, Docker, Maven, Jira, Intellij, Jenkins
