Position Description: Vocera is looking for a hands-on Software Engineer in Test, Integrations to join our growing organization. You will be responsible for functional and system automation testing of complete integration solutions for rapid delivery of critical events and communications to healthcare professionals to provide improved patient care. This position will report to the Manager, Integrations Development.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, implement and execute effective automated functional and system tests within project timelines to ensure correct outcomes while exposing defects for the Vocera integrations

• Leverage SOLID design principals, design patterns, and apply them to address specific product requirements

• Apply current or emerging automation frameworks to meet the needs of the Vocera integrations testing

• Participate in and seek continuous learning through peer review

• Work with Vocera quality champion to create test strategies

• Assist with the support, troubleshooting, escalation, and resolution of issues arising from internal testing or external defect reports

• Collaborate effectively with Development Team(s), Release Engineering, DevOps, IT, Tech Support, and Professional Services

• Document relevant processes and designs

• Follow development and QA best practices and processes

Competencies

• Understanding of various non-functional aspects in system design such as the ability to provide test a solution to optimize performance and scalability

• Ability to rapidly learn and take advantage of new concepts and technologies

• Ability to create test tooling that orchestrates testing of asynchronous microservices

• Solid understanding of software testing concepts and best practices

• Ability to plan, design, implement, and execute effective functional, system, and automation tests

• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process using Jira and Confluence

• Strong team player comfortable working with geographically distributed and cross functional teams and willingness to mentor less experienced team members

• Strong troubleshooting, communications, and documentation skills

• Proactive in the face of ambiguous requirements; unafraid to explore new ideas and technologies

• Resourceful and able to solve problems through practical use of technology and a solid understanding of product architecture

• Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills

Requirements

• BA or MS in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent

• 5+ years of experience testing of complex enterprise applications

• Proficiency with Java, Linux, and databases

• Broad knowledge of networking, messaging protocols and formats such as TCP, UDP, SOAP, REST, XMPP, JSON, XML, RTP, SIP

• Demonstrated understanding of performance and scalability testing

• Knowledge of test automation frameworks (Python, BDD, Selenium, JUnit a plus)

• Familiarity with code review processes, Agile development methodologies

• Track record of delivering high quality technical results within committed time parameters

• No travel required

• Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination required
