Business environment

Payment R&D division is an organization of 200 people, part of Travel Unit (TRU), and spread between Nice, Dallas, Madrid and Bangalore. The division is responsible for developing and operating the Amadeus Payment Platform (APP). The Amadeus Payment Platform is positioned at the crossroads between technology, travel, payment and security. The platform processes millions of payments every day through credit card networks, payment service providers (PSP), acquiring banks or alternative methods of payment providers (e.g. PayPal). It provides a complete and modular ecosystem of payment solutions, helping our customers to protect revenues, increase sales and reduce payment costs. All solutions are fully integrated into the travel booking flow, leading to a better customer experience, more efficient chargeback management and enriched back office reporting.

Purpose

The PAY division is responsible of providing payment solutions to our Amadeus customers (Airlines, TAs, hotel, rail, insurance companies,…).

In a very competitive area, our payment solution is constantly evolving to remain at the state of the art. You will have the opportunity to contribute to very innovative projects such as opening our payment platform to any type of segments like insurance, hotel, rail etc... and also to improve features of XPP products.

As a Quality Assurance Engineer , you will foster an end-to-end quality culture and shape a well-balanced test pyramid, following ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) principles.

You will have the responsibility to perform professional and standardized functional validation on Amadeus back-end and front-end applications.

Your goal will be to detect functional issues as early as possible in the development cycle and avoid their propagation to the production system.

Besides, as one of the ambassadors of quality in Amadeus, you will be a key actor of the cultural change towards an even greater experience for Amadeus customers.

You'll have the possibility to embark journeys like the creation of Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery pipelines, improvement of quality processes and methodologies.

Key accountabilities

-Implement test strategy

-Participate in specification reviews to give input on testing requirements.

-Define test cases from customers requirements and ensure traceability with specifications.

-Write test plan (functional and/or non-functional).

-Design test cases and develop automated test case scripts (using TTS and/or testing UI testing tools).

-Prepare test environment, test data, and execute test cases.

-Raise defects and track their resolution.

-Give go/no-go for the customer’s test campaign and for the production loads.

-Ensure improvement of regression test repository.

-Be responsible for the project, product or release quality control.

-Share your knowledge

-Report and communicate on test activities to the line organization, software developers and product definition analysts.

Education

  • University degree in Business or Scientific studies or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • ISTQB Certification (foundation level) is a plus
  • English: Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Relevant work experience
  • Experience in software functional testing (manual and automated), based on ISTQB principles
  • Experience in projects using agile methodology (including T-shape mindset)
  • Experience in software development is a plus
  • Experience in the travel industry is a plus
