We assist shoppers in filling their basket with life's essentials, inspiring them to try something new, and empowering our partners to grow their revenue profitably along the way. More specifically within this mission, the Findability Web team helps shoppers to find what they’re looking for, wherever they are, in a relevant and personalised way. We are a full-stack web development team made up of engineers who design and build both the best user experience on our React/NodeJS front end and a reliable and performant set of Java backend microservices.

We are looking for a front end focused engineer who can deliver a fantastic user experience for our customers, implementing solutions in both the React web front end and the NodeJS API layer. Working as part of the cross-functional team, they will get involved in investigating and solving customer problems, contribute to technical decision making and share knowledge both within the team and the department.

Essential:

  • Experience with JavaScript, React (or similar frameworks) and NodeJS;
  • An understanding of automated testing and testing best practices;
  • Familiarity with continuous delivery concepts;
  • Strong collaboration skills that will allow you to work effectively alongside a cross-functional team;
  • A desire to learn from others in order to improve your breadth and depth of knowledge;
  • A wish to create the best end user experience across our web platform.

Desirable:

  • Experience with RESTful services and APIs;
  • Some knowledge of Java or similar backend technologies;
  • Experience of working with microservices;
  • Experience working with AWS;
  • Worked in an agile environment;
  • A test-driven approach to development.
