More specifically within this mission, the Findability Web team helps shoppers to find what they’re looking for, wherever they are, in a relevant and personalised way. We are a full-stack web development team made up of engineers who design and build both the best user experience on our React/NodeJS front end and a reliable and performant set of Java backend microservices.
We are looking for a front end focused engineer who can deliver a fantastic user experience for our customers, implementing solutions in both the React web front end and the NodeJS API layer. Working as part of the cross-functional team, they will get involved in investigating and solving customer problems, contribute to technical decision making and share knowledge both within the team and the department.
Essential:
- Experience with JavaScript, React (or similar frameworks) and NodeJS;
- An understanding of automated testing and testing best practices;
- Familiarity with continuous delivery concepts;
- Strong collaboration skills that will allow you to work effectively alongside a cross-functional team;
- A desire to learn from others in order to improve your breadth and depth of knowledge;
- A wish to create the best end user experience across our web platform.
Desirable:
- Experience with RESTful services and APIs;
- Some knowledge of Java or similar backend technologies;
- Experience of working with microservices;
- Experience working with AWS;
- Worked in an agile environment;
- A test-driven approach to development.
