We are looking for a highly motivated Mid to Senior level Back End or Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team in Bristol.

Job Description

The Role

This role will be working within our Platform team, building and developing exciting and unique products in the industry such as our geospatial data platform, and live streaming of 3d models from our SubSLAM X2 product. Our products are AWS hosted, using an array of PaaS and SaaS solutions such as Lambda functions, S3 and K8S, with Python (Django), PostGIS back end and ReactJS based user interfaces.

Within your team, you will contribute towards the design, development, and implementation of our products. You will be actively engaged in building quality solutions through peer reviews, continuous improvement and using our continuous integration pipelines. 

About you & what you will bring

We’re looking for an experienced and talented Software Engineer who has what it takes to make a real impact in this role. If you have these skills and experience this could be you: 

Strong software engineering background with great knowledge of best practices and principles

  • Writing and maintaining production-level code
  • Developing and testing complex solutions in Python (Django, or other web-based frameworks) D- eveloping secure software
  • Working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
  • Strong knowledge and experience of the software development lifecycle
  • Agile development practices
  • Strong skills and experience in Git & GitHub, CI/CD toolchains and containers
  • Experience building distributed systems in cloud
  • 2+ Years relevant commercial experience 
  • Additional Experience (desirable but not essential) 

You may not have loads of experience in all the things below and we are happy to work on developing your skillsets, but you will have a general understanding and working knowledge of the following: 

  • Experience of AWS products and services
  • Experience with ReactJS or other JavaScript libraries and frameworks
  • Experience in authentication and authorization
  • Experience with GIS and PostGIS
