Our Digital teams are based in our Cardiff office however we are all working remotely at the moment. These posts can be undertaken in a fully remote capacity however you would be welcome to attend the Cardiff office when we return. Job description Reporting to a Principal Developer, as a Lead Developer, you’ll be responsible for line managing a team of 4 developers working in a cross functional Scrum team.

You’ll collaborate with the team Agile Delivery manager and the Leads for the Test and Business Analysis professions.

You may also need to support one of our contracted partnership teams.

There are 8 Lead Developers, and together we lead 12 Agile software development teams.

We work closely with the architects and the platform team who are helping us get our development pipeline automated using Concourse CI, SonarQube, AWS, Terraform and Artifactory. Responsibilities You’ll be responsible for:

  • Providing technical leadership within the scrum that you support
  • Ensuring the teams design efficient and maintainable solutions
  • Working with the developer community to define and document technical standards
  • Supporting the development of peers, the software developers in your team and the wider organisation
  • Helping the development teams maximise their automated test coverage
