Job Description:

We have an exciting opening for a Platform Technology Architect join one of UKs leading media broadcasting companies. This role sits within their technology department and the team specifically looks after the organizations VoD platform architecture directly designing solutions that are integrated into the app and are responsible for delivering any change to how the viewer interacts with us by seeing, hearing, and experiencing via digital and non-broadcast channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership on projects including platform migrations, new implementations, and support engagements
  • Work closely with Technical Leads and Developers to ensure both internal and external, in the delivery of the Product Feature Roadmap for websites, native applications and supporting services, in accordance with the architecture blueprints
  • Power improvements to coding and architecture standards to ensure align with industry standards
  • Hands on throughout the project lifecycle, using Agile delivery techniques
  • Maintain technical credibility with, and therefore the ability to influence, our development teams (Internal & External) by taking a “hands on” approach to the role. The role holder must be willing to get involved with tech leads, developers, testers, and business analysts at a detailed level when the situation requires it
  • Balancing adherence to our architectural blueprints and managing stakeholders when necessary
  • Provide general technical due diligence support for projects and programmes supporting business and technology stakeholders
  • Represent and actively participate in the wider governance and Architecture communities with the Chief Architect and other technology teams

Experience and Skills

  • You have broad tech architect experience based on practical experience gained working in a systems development environment, ideally working on big screen device applications from feasibility to implementation
  • Experience of cloud-based infrastructure, design, and best practices, with AWS experience preferred
  • Hands-on experience with Agile delivery practices across the full project lifecycle, preferably within a large enterprise
  • Managed development teams on a range of technical deliverables and project types
  • Experience of designing and implementing change in complex multi supplier eco system across live streaming and VoD
  • Understanding of Service-Oriented and Domain based Architectures
  • Modern web development practices and architecture
  • Project delivery using Scrum, Kanban, and Waterfall
  • Experience of implementing SaaS software packages
