Our success has led to a continued expansion in both the range of services we offer and in our global presence. We now have a fantastic opportunity for a PHP Laravel Developer to join our Applications Development team.

The PHP Laravel Developer designs, writes, modifies, tests, documents and implements web-based applications for both internal and external clients, but with a focus on external client-based projects. The PHP Laravel Developer works with other developers within the Synaptik Digital team, to take project briefs, source information to generate preliminary ideas and develop web-based applications through to delivery of the project. You will manage assigned projects within agreed time frames to ensure effective delivery of these projects.

The successful candidate will have the following:

• Strong knowledge of PHP Laravel framework, combined with some understanding of Symfony framework.

• Extensive previous professional experience working in PHP Laravel web development, combined with an understanding of the limitations of PHP as a platform and associated workarounds.

• Knowledge of the synchronous behaviour of PHP is essential.

• Knowledge and previous experience in MVC design patterns.

• Technical knowledge and experience of front-end technologies is required including React, Angular, Vue.js, HTML5 and CSS3.

• Object-Orientated Programming (OOP): knowledge of object-oriented PHP programming.

• Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and their declarative query languages.

• Demonstrable understanding of accessibility and security compliance.

• Strong knowledge of common PHP or web server exploits and their solutions.

• Demonstrable understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application.

• Demonstrable knowledge of user authentication and authorisation between multiple systems, servers and environments.

• Experience of creating database schemas that represent and support business processes.

• Experience of integrating multiple data sources and databases into one system.

• Version control: proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as TFS/GIT/SVN.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience of managing multiple projects with strong prioritisation skills.

• Excellent attention to detail, with evidence of producing work to a consistently high standard.
