Job Description:

From our technology to our team members, Neo4j is built on relationships.

As part of Neo4j product engineering, you will work together with a diverse team of talented colleagues from around the world. Our culture encourages engineers who want to become deep experts in a particular field – or to build broad expertise across several technologies. Our engineers regularly work with peers in field engineering and experience the full lifecycle of the systems they build.

We build technology that helps cure cancers, addresses diabetes, and gets humans to Mars. We're proud to fight fraud, crush pandemics, and even help journalists uncover the truth. Neo4j’s engineering teams are located in Malmö, Sweden and London, UK.

Please submit your CV and cover letter in English.

The Team

Our team makes Neo4j Browser, a slick web application for running queries, and the main user interface for the Neo4j graph database. Neo4j has its own graph query language called Cypher, with a SQL-like structure.

Neo4j Browser is an open source product that provides an interactive Cypher editor including syntax highlighting and context-aware auto-completion. In addition to traditional tabular formats for query results, Neo4j Browser can display graphs as an interactive visualisation, allowing users to intuitively see the structure of their data.

Neo4j Browser is the first surface that developers see when they enter the world of graphs, and its capabilities are a key factor for the success of Neo4j and the Graph Database industry as a whole.

Your Contribution will be to:

  • Build things that you won’t find in a normal web application (interactive visualisations, intelligent code editors, and high efficiency processing of large volumes of data)

  • Have a positive impact on others developers’ day to day work

What You'll Bring:

  • Strong UI/Front-end development skills with a solid knowledge of modern JavaScript / TypeScript, HTML, and CSS

  • Experience working with libraries such as React, Redux, and RxJS

  • Proficiency with JavaScript testing frameworks

  • Comfortable working in a distributed team and ability to work autonomously and with initiative when necessary

Nice to have:

  • Experience with IDE / Editor development such as Monaco
  • Knowledge of data visualization libraries like d3.js
