Summary of the role

The Head of Analytics Solution Architecture holds responsibility for the overall architecture of the Analytics landscape needed to support and evolve Business Analytics Services and initiatives part of the company’s program portfolio:

• Has a full visibility of all components of the technical environment and understands business goals, strategic plans, and constraints. Based on that knowledge, he plays a key role in defining the technical feasibility of the solutions being delivered while permanently contributing to the Innovation of the Analytics portfolio.
• Continuously evaluate the suitability of our analytics technology environment -including tools, frameworks, and processes- to satisfy current and future business needs, in close collaboration with the Service Manager and Delivery Manager for Business Analytics Services
• Provide Solution Architecture expertise for major Transformation Programs and Projects as needed, acting as a subject matter expert, and ensuring alignment to overall Analytics Architecture goals
• Collaborate across DTS and Business: Leverage strong collaboration skills to partner with varied stakeholders within the organization, including the own Data & Analytics team, DTS Solutions Teams, Transformation Programs, Security, Infrastructure, and business stakeholders… Act as an evangelist for Analytics architecture and data management best practices within IT and the business
• Is the liaison between DTA and the rest of the Amadeus Organization to define and implement a common architectural strategy supporting fundamental decisions such as the Microsoft agreement, the Move to the Cloud or the Amadeus Data Platform & Data Mesh

In this role you’ll

• Assess feasibility: Analyses requests coming over new functionalities or components in the landscape acting as a gatekeeper for their introduction & adoption of new architectural elements as per the DTS - ----- Technology Roadmap. Leads the road to optimize the “As is” and define the “To Be”, in close coordination with Service Management and Service Delivery Leads, for an Analytics Architecture supporting the Business --- Analytics Services (currently serving +5000 Amadeus users and behind key processes for the Company such as Financial Closing and Billing).
• Define working model: Sets the standards for the governance of the systems in his scope by defining the rules of interaction among support, operations and service delivery teams ensuring the correct usage of the new or enhanced technical components.
• Enables synergies: By having a cross view over multiple transformation programs, the SA lead is able to identify overlaps and synergies, pointing to the re-use of components in the landscape and optimizing both costs impacts and technical scalability.
• Support Information modeling: Understands business information models and advises over their feasibility and technical optimization in close collaboration with information architects, with a special focus on performances and future sustainability.
• Ensure maintainability: In coordination with Business Analytics Service Readiness area, she/she/he is responsible for the overall technical performance and the scalability of the landscape and ensures new projects are developed without negative impacts on costs or service SLAs. Understands and contribute to optimize the licensing model of BA Solutions. She/He transmits the knowledge and the governance to service delivery teams, granting the support to the transition of activities. Actively supports and even leads technical upgrades (e.g. over the SAP Platform) that are mandatory to secure the efficiency of Analytics Services (operations).
• Secure data and analytic assets: Aid in the analysis of data and analytics security requirements and solutions, and work with the chief information security officer (CISO) to ensure that enterprise data and analytics assets are treated as a protected assets, including new potential context added by the large introduction of Cloud components in the Analytics ecosystem.
• Improve information management processes: Supports the integration with other departments’ frameworks or systems by providing expert advisory for the technical services to be delivered enterprise-wide. The SA Lead plays a key role participating as DTA representative in the definition of Data Sharing principles (e.g. Data Mesh) within the company under the umbrella of the framework defined by the CTO.
• Enables and support innovation: working together with other contributors to Innovation, he strongly contributes to the addition of new services to the portfolio of Analytics as per the roadmap of the different solutions and they map with the DTS Technology Road and the overall (e.g. Move to Cloud) company strategy.

The incumbent

• Understands deeply the Service of Analytics and the DTA Strategy in order to efficiently apply architectural decisions in close sync with the Business needs and the DTA Portfolio of Service.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the technical/architectural field of Analytics solutions based on a deep experience and exposure to Data & Analytics solutions. Complements this full control of the Analytical (and data ecosystem) with a global understanding of the other solutions (e.g. sources) both within and outside the pure DTS scope.
• Autonomously solves unique and complex problems that have broad impact in the Service of Analytics.
• Leads the architectural roadmap for Analytics in permanent and close collaboration with A&I colleagues. - - Acts as DTA reference for Analytics in key transformational programs (e.g. Curiosity).

About the ideal candidate

• University degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
• At least 15 years of experience in the area of Analytics and/or Planning.
• Experience working with global teams placed in different locations
• Organizations/Solutions around the Data in Amadeus.
• Amadeus Business & Travel Industry Knowledge.
• Market standards and trends for Data and Analytics.

Specific Knowledge

• Ability to map business needs, technical solutions and the strategy of the company to propose optimized architectures.
• Ability to lead/support the implementation of transformational initiatives from the angle of Solution Architecture.
• Ability to associate business needs with standardized processes and levels of operation Process definition, capacity to adapt to changing contexts and conditions.
• Good interpersonal skills, both collaborating in different teams and also leading others.
• Ability to present technical concepts to a non-technical audience
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize
• Good analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills with a strong customer service-oriented approach.

Languages

• Must speak and write fluently in English
• French or Spanish are a Plus Computing

Familiarity with a wide and deep range of Analytical solutions and fundamentals: SAP Business Objects Suite, Qlik Sense, SAP BPC Planning platform, SAC, Oracle, HP Vertica, SQL, BW4HANA. Data Integration, Big Data and Predictive Analytics are a plus, together with Cloud Fundamentals (MS Azure, other cloud models). SharePoint and Collaboration tools Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint)
