What is the role?

We're looking for a demonstrated engineering leader with experience building market-leading products, who can work closely with our CPO as we bring innovation to the world of private equity. As well as owning architecture and technology strategy, you’ll own the growth and structure of our engineering organisation, taking responsibility for hiring, management and mentoring, establishing Titanbay as an esteemed organisation for developers to join. You will be:

  • Overseeing all aspects of the architecture of the platform, taking responsibility for system design
  • Growing the existing team (around 30 currently, back end, front end, platform, QA), structuring the team, and introducing career progression frameworks, salary - - benchmarking and more
  • Managing and mentoring the team, to help them grow in their careers and perform at their very best - through lunch and learn sessions, pairing, we’d expect you to take the lead and lean on your past experiences and research to put our people at the forefront
  • Utilising your wealth of expertise to unblock teams where needed, to ensure we keep momentum and pace
  • Championing Titanbay through thought leadership, raising awareness of our product and team through meet-ups, hackathons, conference talks and more

Requirements

  • Previous experience in an engineering leadership role with a high growth B2B tech company, ideally having taken a vision from infancy to development
  • Extensive experience in software development, with an excellent understanding of software architecture and system design
  • Familiarity with our technology stack is preferable but not essential (we’re working with TypeScript, Vue, Node, GCP, Kubernetes)
  • Excellent soft skills - you’ll know how to manage and motivate people, and will know how to influence and communicate your ideas across the business - working closely with Design, Product, Operations and Commercial teams
  • Ideally, experience managing and structuring engineering teams in an Agile - environment, preferably having worked with remote and distributed teams
  • Enthusiasm for continuous learning and development - we want to always be aware of new technological trends and developments, to remain at the forefront of what we do Confidence navigating an early stage start-up with the challenges that can come with it
  • Ability to prioritise effectively, with excellent time management and organisational skills
