Job Description

What will I be doing?

You will be working as part of an autonomous team, discussing requirements, developing the valuation infrastructure of Lens, our next generation data analysis and visualisation platform. You will test your work with automated testing frameworks before shipping it to clients using CI/CD pipelines. Your experience doesn’t exactly match our stack? Don’t worry! We hire based on talent not language/framework specific skill set.

This role is for our Flying Squirrels team, our goal is to enable users to valuate every asset in the world.

Qualifications

Ideally you:

  • Have some experience across the stack building web-based applications (using a modern front-end framework), setting up, and deploying to infrastructure in a cloud environment

  • Are a keen learner and like to share knowledge too

  • Love building resilient and scalable software

  • Are curious about how best engineering practices can be used for solving business problems

Our stack:

• Primary language is Typescript, we also have back-end services in C# and use Python for data ETLs

• AWS

• React with Redux and Apollo

• GraphQL and RESTful APIs, built in NodeJS running on AWS Lambda and ECS-CloudFormation

• Micro-services approach to back-end architecture

• Data stores using DynamoDB, Postgres, Elasticsearch and S3 [pills: DynamoDB, Postgres, Elasticsearch, AWS S3]

• Jenkins and BitBucket (some teams use git-flow based branching strategies, others do trunk-based development)

• Docker for local development
