We’re looking for a full time Backend Engineer to play a critical role in building out the business logic of our stack, from launching new user facing features and capabilities to building and improving APIs and delivering new integrations with partner services.
This role requires at least 4 years proven experience with RUBY-ON-RAILS (or a similar web application framework) and relational databases. Hands-on experience with REDIS, ELASTICSEARCH, SIDEKIQ and video technologies such as DASH, HLS and DRM will be a big bonus in this role but not essential so long as you have a strong appetite for learning fast! Familiarity with any of REACT, NEXTJS, CHEF and AWS is beneficial.
You should enjoy solving challenging problems at scale across multiple systems and take pride in writing high quality, well-tested code. You should embrace software engineering best practices for iterative development and produce cohesive code that is easy to read, reuse and modify. This role is suitable for a candidate who is comfortable working with a high degree of independence and can collaborate effectively with colleagues and key stakeholders across the business. You should thrive on taking ownership of projects as well as being active about improving engineering practices and tooling at MUBI.
