Business environment

The Order Research & Development (ORR) division is in charge of the Order Business Domain R&D, including order management, ticketing and revenue accounting for our airline IT customers. Our group provides the following services in the Amadeus portfolio:

  • Electronic ticket & EMD server to 130 Altea carriers
  • Electronic document gateway
  • Sales reporting to 130 Altea carriers and all distribution markets
  • Document production for airlines and markets (printed receipts, email receipts etc)
  • Real Time Ticketing Feeds
  • Amadeus sales Watcher
  • Revenue Accounting
  • Order Management The organization spans across several sites: NCE*, BLR*, DAL, LON, DXB, SYD *main sites

Purpose

In order to maintain a high software quality on all of the services above, a Quality Assurance department, TRU-ALT-ORR-TRQ has been put in place to ensure QA principles are followed: "Fit for purpose" (the product should be suitable for the intended purpose) and "Right first time" (mistakes should be eliminated).

In the scope of Ticketing oriented products, develop, execute and maintain software test scenarios, with the aim of keeping the software at expected quality level. Accountable for test strategy implementation.

The department actively participates in the shift left initiative in Amadeus involving QA at Project Kickoff and working on QCP environment.

The department also works closely with Business Analysts and Developers to ensure that new products or features are answering customer’s need, while having no defects.

In addition, TRU-ALT-ORR-TRQ is actively working with DevOps and Principal Engineers to ensure quality is in the heart of operational changes and future CI/CD software life cycle development, while working on the Cloud Migration.

Key accountabilities

  • Implement master test plan, in compliance with the global test strategy
  • Participate in specification reviews to provide input on testability requirements
  • Responsible for the project, product or release quality control
  • Define test cases from customer’s requirements. Ensure traceability with specifications
  • Write test plan (functional and/or non functional and/or non-regression)
  • Design test cases
  • Develop automated test case scripts
  • Prepare test environment and test data, and execute the test cases
  • Provide go/no-go for their test campaign
  • Provide information to developers in order to fix defects. Perform PTR fix verification
  • Give go/no-go for the load of Production PTRs
  • Responsible for PTRs sorting meeting
  • Document software defects
  • Responsible for reporting and communicating on test activities to the line organization, software developers and product definitions
  • Ensure improvement of non-regression test repository
  • May act as QA Manager in specific cases

Education

University degree or engineer school graduation
