Job Description:

About the role:

Foundry is in search of a Senior Build Engineer for the Nuke team, who will focus on enabling our developers to excel at their roles by providing a fast and scalable build system and pipeline. You will work directly with the development team to help maintain and improve our build systems and pipelines. You will help educate our engineers in these processes, and help to create a fully automated release delivery pipeline to customers. This is a unique opportunity to play a vital role in the team that develops Nuke, the industry-leading composing package for the VFX industry. You will bring your existing skills, and also learn new ones, as we continuously strive for improvement in software development and deployment.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the development and operations teams to maintain and design our build system.
  • Work with QA and Software Engineers to increase the automation of our build pipeline for improving our release delivery efficiency.
  • Manage our build nodes, both physical and virtual machines for all major desktop environments.
  • Have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapting to constantly changing requirements.

Requirements:

  • 3 - 5 years of software development experience
  • Solid CMake skills
  • Python language experience
  • C++ language experience
  • Solid Git skills
  • Intermediate shell scripting skills
  • Ability to manage all the major desktop environments: Linux, Windows, and macOS

Advantageous experience:

  • Continuous Integration tools, like GitLab CI, Jenkins or GitHub Actions
  • Complex application testing, desktop applications in particular
  • Experience with Docker containerisation
  • Use of automated refactoring tools like ClangTidy, IWYU, etc.
